Brad Thompson

Brad Thompson helps clients and their families handle difficult family law issues, including contested divorce, uncontested divorce, child custody, legal custody, physical custody, visitation, property settlement agreements, spousal support, and other related matters.

Brad is a former prosecutor in Salem, Virginia, where he served as Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney. He has assisted clients in General District Court, Circuit Court, and the Court of Appeals of Virginia, in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, and the surrounding area.

As a prosecutor, Brad worked with local enforcement to investigate domestic violence, violations of protective orders, spousal abuse, and child abuse. He has significant experience assisting victims and their families. He believes that every client deserves an advocate on their side who will work tirelessly to protect their rights in and out of the courtroom.

Prior to joining the Commonwealth’s Attorney, Brad worked with attorney John Weber to prepare briefs and other memoranda for civil cases pending before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. He is a graduate of the Trial Advocacy College in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Brad lives with his wife, Rachel Thompson, an immigration lawyer, and their son in Salem, Virginia. Together, they are active members of Church of the Holy Spirit.
